The Strategic Planning Division in KSA deals with a wide range of comprehensive and integrated strategic planning services and associated projects that require a strategic or ‘forward-planning’ approach. The expertise and experience of the team members ensures that the Strategic Planning Division has a high-level and quality output of a number of diverse and wide-ranging strategic projects. These include Regional Planning, Land Use and Transportation Studies, Housing Strategies, Retail Strategies and Retail Impact Assessments, Local Area Plans, Airport studies and strategies, future needs studies and analysis, feasibility studies and assessments, as well as county-wide strategies and analyses dealing with economic, social and cultural issues and data gathering.

As part of our ongoing work we provide full stakeholder consultation on all projects (both public and private), including public consultation on work commissioned from Local Authorities such as Local Area Plans.

The Strategic Planning Division has also developed a new approach to strategic spatial planning through the development of an applied spatial methodology based on the assessment of thematic indicators and sustainable settlement patterns and critical mass analysis. This approach was developed when working on the Midlands Gateway Strategic Development Framework.

We can offer full and comprehensive expertise and utilisation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the mapping of spatial information and the systematic and detailed analysis of information including demographics, travel patterns, employment, social issues, health analysis, etc.

A particular strength of the Strategic Planning Division is the use of demographic analysis and forecasting including the use of detailed population projection models and analysis and determination of future population projections at any level from local to national incl. towns, villages, counties and regions.
